What is a Precinct Committeeman (PC)?
A Precinct Committeeman is the most important elected official in the Republican Party. PCs are the foundation of the party. As a Precinct Committeeman, you represent the interests of your precinct as a voting member of the Pinal County Republican Committee and provide education and party updates to the Voters of your precinct.
A Precinct Committeeman is an activist party worker at the grassroots level. You can make an impact in your community with the Republican party by becoming a Precinct Committeeman. The minimum duties of a precinct committeeman shall be to assist the political party in voter registration drives and neighborhood party campaigning efforts and to get the voters to the polls on election day.
How do I become a Precinct Committeeman?
Any member of the Republican party who is a registered voter in their resident precinct is eligible to become a PC in the precinct in which he or she lives.
Precinct Committeemen (PCs) are either Elected or Appointed.
An Elected PC serves for a 2-year term. Currently, elected PCs will serve from 10/1/2022 – 9/30/2024.
A precinct allows a certain number of PCs. If there are more PCs interested in becoming a PC versus the # allowed, it is put on the ballot in the primary election. Otherwise, they are generally approved by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors without an election.
The opportunity for becoming an Elected PC is now closed until January 2024 when we will begin taking applications again. Every Elected PC must re-apply.
We are currently accepting applications for Appointed PCs only.

Become a PC in 4 Simple Steps
- Step 1: Complete the PC Appointment Form.
- Step 2: Return the completed and signed form to the District Chair for your precinct.
- Step 3: The District Chair will submit the application to the PCRC Chair for approval and signature.
- Step 4: The PC application form will be sent to the Elections Department for approval by Pinal County Board of Supervisors.
Elected PCs submit their PC applications by mid-May 2024, beginning in January 2024.
PC applications for elected positions consist of 10 signatures from their precinct and contact information form OR write-in candidate form. The forms are submitted to the District Chair and to the PCRC Chair. They are then submitted to the Elections Department for approval by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors (PCBOS).
